Water, oil, stain and dirt repellent. High-protection performance for composite wood
WoodGuard® Composite Wood penetrates composite wood to make it completely insensitive to grease and stains.
WoodGuard® Composite Wood slows the aging of composite wood, simplifies its maintenance and allows its new, clean appearance to be preserved for much longer. Once applied, it is a completely colourless product that does not alter the structure or natural appearance of the wood.
The exceptional weather resistance of WoodGuard® Composite Wood makes it the ideal product for outdoor treatment, but it can also be used indoors. It can be used on composite-wood decking, flooring, weatherboarding, and all composite-wood substrates.

Apply with graining brush or roller.
Tools and equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after use.
  • Apply the product to composite wood that is clean, dustfree, sound and dry.
  • Always prepare composite wood according to the current applicable codes of practice.
  • Note that certain composite-wood manufacturers leave an impermeable layer on the surface of the material which wears off over time. In the case of an impermeable composite, allow the surface layer to wear off before applying WoodGuard® Composite Wood.
  • Ensure substrate has all the characteristics required for longevity.
  • WoodGuard® Composite Wood cannot prevent the wood from splitting if it is exposed to excessive variations of hygrometry. It is therefore recommended to apply our products when composite wood has reached a low hygroscopic equilibrium. This condition can be measured easily because it occurs when the timbers have shrunk to their narrowest width, often less than the original width.
  • Use the product neat: do not dilute.
  • Shake the product well before use.
  • Do not apply during rain or in very hot weather. Ideal surface and air temperature 5°C to 30°C.
  • Test first on a small inconspicuous area under the expected conditions. Apply the product and note the number of layers needed for effective treatment. Check the effectiveness by wetting the substrate.
  • The substrate must be impregnated with 2 to 4 layers to saturation point, depending on the nature of the composite wood.
  • If possible, apply to all visible surfaces.
  • Drying time between layers: 15 minutes to 1 hour depending on temperature.
  • Protect from rain for 24 hrs and from oily deposits for at least 48 hrs before permitting foot traffic.
  • Optimal performance is attained after 5 to 7 days.
  • Physical state at 20°C: Liquid.
  • Colour: Colourless.
  • Odour: None.
  • pH: 7 ± 0.5.
  • Boiling point [°C]: 100°C.
  • Relative density: 1.01 ± 0.005.
  • Solubility in water [vol/vol]: Total.
  • Flashpoint [°C]: Not applicable.
Coverage depends on how porous the wood is. 
The following values are for guidance only:
  • 100 to 125 g/m² for 2 layers.
  • 110 to 145 g/m² for 4 layers.
2 and 5 litres.
  • Store in a dry place at a temperature of between 5°C and 30°C.
  • Shelf-life: 24 months from date of manufacture, in original unopened can.
  • Household stains can be sponged off with a pH-neutral household detergent.
  • A maintenance layer is recommended. This depends on the exposure and on the wood. The layer must be applied before the product suffers any deterioration.
Ecological and respects the environment:
  • Water-based product.
  • No petroleum-based solvents. 
  • Silicone-free.
  • Safe and non-toxic.
  • More than 90% biodegradable*.
  • VOCs < 23 g/l*.
  • Breathing protection: No breathing protection equipment is required under normal use conditions with suitable ventilation.
  • Hand protection: Wear latex gloves.
  • Skin protection: No skin protection or special clothing is recommended under normal use conditions.
  • Eye protection: If there is a significant risk of splashes, wear protective goggles.
  • In case of ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Contact a doctor or specialist.

Limitations on use
The treatment may be ineffective in the following cases:
  • On non-composite wood.
  • On damp wood (moisture content > 16%).
  • Where micro-organisms are present.
  • Application, preparation and substrate not according to current French codes of practice and applicable standards: DTU 59.1 (Paintwork), XP CEN/TS 15534, etc.
  • Loose joints.
  • On wood that has undergone a fire-resistance treatment.
  • On sharp edges (sharp edges should preferably be rounded to ensure continuity of product and thus avoid breaks in coverage).
  • Ends, cuts, drill holes, etc. not saturated with product.
