Water & oil repellent, self-cleaning and pollution-removing total protection of porous building materials.

ProtectGuard® Dtox is an innovative product which combine water-repellent, oil-repellent, anti-graffiti and pollution-removing properties.
ProtectGuard® Dtox offers long-lasting protection against water, atmospheric pollution, grease-type staining, penetration of liquids and graffiti.
A material treated with ProtectGuard® Dtox becomes virtually self-cleaning and will be easier to maintain.
ProtectGuard® Dtox uses photocatalytic action to remove pollutants present in outdoor air and breaks down organic pollution.
Air is therefore purified.
ProtectGuard® Dtox is a non film-forming impregnation product that leaves the treated surface permeable to air and water vapour.
ProtectGuard® Dtox is completely colourless after application and does not change the appearance or the composition of the treated surface. It is also UV-resistant and does not discolor with age. ProtectGuard® Dtox is available in a coloured version (ProtectGuard® Color Dtox).
Substrate preparation:
  • Apply the product to a surface that is clean, dust-free, greasefree and dry. To remove stains and marks of pollution use Guard Cleaner® Polluted facades. For efflorescence, laitance or concrete bloom use Guard Remover® Eco Efflorescence & Cement.
Application:
  • Use product neat - do not dilute.
  • Shake container well before use. Test first.
  • The treated surface should be impregnated to saturation point, either in one application or in two applications ‘wet-on-wet’.
  • Do not over apply, eliminate exceeding product before drying.
  • Drying time: 24 hours.
  • Optimum effectiveness obtained after 7 days.
  • Protects against water and grease.
  • Anti-staining, anti-dirt and anti-adhesion.
  • Photocatalytic removal of pollution: purifies outside air.
  • Makes surfaces self-cleaning.
  • Limits formation of efflorescences.
  • Limits development of moss and lichens.
  • Makes materials more resistant to atmospheric pollution.
  • Makes cleaning easier.
  • Good anti-graffiti properties.
  • Prevents degradations due to ‘freezethaw’ cycles.
  • Non film-forming, lets a surface breathe.

Apply using a low pressure sprayer, a roller or a brush.

Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with water.

  • Keep in a dry place (between 5°C and 30°C).
  • Storage: 12 months following the production date when kept in the original unopened container.
Stubborn dirt should be cleaned off with clean water or with Guard Cleaner® Eco Soiled Floors diluted with 50% water.

  • VOCs < 2 g/l*.
  • 100% biodegradable*.
  • Remove all atmospheric pollution-related dirt from all surfaces to be treated before starting the treatment.
  • For best results it is essential that ProtectGuard® Dtox is used when the temperature of the substrates is between 5°C and 30°C.
  • Do not apply during rain or in very hot weather.
  • Air temperature between 5°C and 30°C. Do not dilute or mix with any other product.
  • Respiratory protection: Under normal conditions of use where adequate ventilation is available, no special respiratory protection equipment is needed.
  • Hand protection: Wear latex gloves.
  • Skin protection: No special protective clothing or skin protection is required under normal conditions of use.
  • Eye protection: If there is a real risk of splashing, wear protective goggles.
  • If swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. Contact a doctor or a specialist.
